Eligibility
Sponsorship may be given to existing teacher-recognition programs
throughout the world. The qualification criteria outlined in the
section below will be used to evaluate programs under consideration.
Programs more likely to be supported are those that recognize
outstanding teachers, administrators, principals or school-technology
users at state, provincial, national and international levels.
Individual teacher applicants and for-profit programs are not
eligible. |
| Criteria
Consideration will be given to teacher-recognition programs
that assess significant contributions by licensed classroom
teachers to students, their profession, their educational institution
and the larger community. Programs will be run annually with
a formal competitive process in place for nominations, applications
and evaluations. Applications must be reviewed by an independent
panel of experts. Programs supported and recognized by state
or national education authorities will be given preference.
Strong consideration will be given to programs that also evaluate
and reward teachers who have high technological proficiency
and a great ability to apply technology in the classroom.
