On May 28, 2008, the SMARTer Kids Foundation welcomed 64 sixth-grade students and 16 of their teachers from across North America to Calgary, Alberta, for an exciting week of interpretive tours, activities and excursions. This visit celebrated the students’ one-year participation in the Connections program with an opportunity to meet one another face to face.
During their week in Calgary, the students and teachers visited the following attractions: the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel, the Banff Gondola, the Calgary Zoo, Douglas Harkness Elementary School, Monterey Park Elementary School, The Calgary Police Service, and the Royal Tyrrell Museum.
The students and teachers stayed at a camp, where they engaged in a variety of activities aimed at building friendships and memories that will last a lifetime.
